The Silver Bream
The Silver bream belongs to the Cyprinidae family. The usual size of the Silver bream is 20 to 30 cm and weighs about 200 g. The largest specimens can reach 35 cm. The life span of the Silver bream is about 10 years and it breeds from May to July. The female lays 20,000 to 60,000 eggs. It can be fished all year round. The Silver bream (Blicca bjoerkna) has a high, laterally flattened body, with a bushy back, characteristic of breams and accentuating with age. The head of this bream is small in relation to the size of its body but its eye is quite large, compared to its common cousin. Its snout is short and its mouth is oblique downwards, a characteristic common to fish seeking food on the bottom. The mouth is protractile (it unfolds forward) and free of barbells, surrounded by thick lips. The Silver bream is characterized by a long anal fin with between 22 and 26 rays, although shorter than the fresh water bream (26 to 30 rays). The dorsal fin of the Silver bream is short and high. The caudal fin is strongly indented. The Silver bream has a silvery coloring on the sides and belly, with a dark greyish-green or olive-colored back. The pelvic, pectoral and anal fins have an orange-red color. This last coloring can affect the whole stomach in older Silver breams.

The Stone Loach belongs to the Balitoridae family. The current size of the Stone loach is about 10-12 cm and maximum 20 cm. Its longevity is 5 to 6 years. The breeding period takes place between April and July. Fertility is 50,000 to 80,000 eggs. Fishing is allowed from June to March. The stone loach has an elongated body, subcylindrical in its front part and covered with tiny scales. The head is broad and flattened. The mouth is equipped with three pairs of barbells on the upper lip. She does not have an erectile spine under her eye. The caudal fin is slightly indented, almost straight and punctuated with black. The back is brownish in color, the flanks are yellowish and the belly is clear. A dark band is present at the base of the caudal fin.

The Dace fish belongs to the Cyprinidae Family. The current size of the dace fish varies between 15 and 20 cm and weighs between 100 and 200 g. However, it can reach a maximum size of 40 cm for a weight of about 1 kg. The life span is usually 10 to 12 years, but it can reach 15 years. The breeding period is from March-April to May-June, depending on latitude. The female's fertility rate is 8,000 to 10,000 oocytes. The dace’s fishing season is open from June to March. This fish has a slender and streamlined body. The head is conical with a small and slightly split mouth, slightly inferior. The eyes are bordered with yellow. Fins are well developed. The caudal is indented, the dorsal fin is grey with 10-11 rays, located in the middle of the back. Pelvic bones are yellow with a concave posterior edge, anal and pectoral fins yellowish to orange. This species is suitable for rapid swimming in rough water. The scales are large (47 to 55 along the lateral line), silver-colored on the sides, greyer and greener dorsally, and white ventrally.

The Common Carp belongs to the Cyprinidae family. Its average size is 40 to 60 cm (up to 1 meter for some specimens) with an average weight of 6 to 8 kilos (up to 37 kilos for some specimens). It can live up to 20 years in the wild. Common carp breed from spring to summer. The female lays 250,000 eggs per kg of weight. Carp can be fished all year round in the 2nd category rivers! It is a massive fish, green in color (except the koi). Its head is conical, its mouth is protractile, it has no teeth but has 2 pairs of barbels. Its growth is fast; it exceeds one kilo in 3 years. The Grayling belongs to the Salmonidae Family. The average size is 35 cm for 400 g (maximum 50 cm for 1.5 kg). Life expectancy can reach 5 years, rarely more. Breeding takes place in spring. The number of eggs laid depends on the size of the female and ranges from 600 to 8000 eggs. The fishery is open from June to December. The body, compressed laterally, is covered with large scales, some of which, pigmented, draw longitudinal streaks, highlighted with black spots. The head is small, the mouth opens downwards.
