The Gag Fish
The Gag fish belongs to the Serranidae family. The gag fish can reach a maximum total length of 1.45 m and a maximum weight of 36.5 kg. This species has a life span of 16 years. They breed from January to May. They can be fished from June to December. The gag fish is typical of groupers with an elongated oblong body. The head is long while the mouth is large with a protruding lower jaw. The bases of the dorsal and anal fins are covered with thick skin and scales.
